Fleur Smilde - MSc student
Fleur Smilde is a Research Master's student in Cognitive Neuroscience at Radboud University, in the LDM lab. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Tilburg University College, majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience. For her Bachelor's thesis, she investigated the effect of mobile phone usage on the functional connectivity of reward regions in the human brain.
For her Master's thesis at the LDM lab, Fleur will investigate the role of serotonin in meta-decision making, under the supervision of Renée Koolschijn. She is interested in whether serotonin plays a role in how we invest our (cognitive) resources. To answer this question, she will use a behavioral gamified task combined with a pharmacological intervention of escitalopram (a selective SSRI, mostly known for its use in treating major depressive disorder).
