NVP Winter Conference 2023

From December 14 to 16, the whole lab parti(cipat)ed in the 2023 Dutch Brain & Cognition Winter Conference in Egmond aan Zee.

Renée and Hanneke organized the opening symposium of the conference: “Deciding how to decide - Neural circuits, computations and psychopathology in cognitive effort allocation”. We had the pleasure of hearing from hot-off-the-press work by Dr. William Hopper, Dr. Alessandro Bongioanni, and Dr. Laura Bustamante. We were very pleased they joined us as honorary lab members for the remainder of the conference. In addition to the symposium, the lab was heavily represented during the poster sessions. Our PhD students Elena, Ben, and Soha showcased their ongoing work, where Soha won the Best Poster Award (for the second time!!). We were extra proud of our Master students Julie, Christian and Rares, who presented posters for their first time ever, after barely 4 months of internship! Julie was even awarded one of the NVP Master student awards

In addition to great science, we enjoyed excellent dinners, a pub quiz later that day (where sadly we did not win, but we highly recommend for any pub quiz to get Alessandro on your team), walks on the beach and of course the traditional NVP disco bowling. We also got to celebrate Bertalan’s birthday with sparkles and all! Looking forward to 2025!
