Solenn Walstra - MSc student

Solenn Walstra is a Research Master’s student in Cognitive Neuroscience at Radboud University, with the focus on perception, action, and decision-making. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, specialising in Cognitive and Neurobiological Psychology at Utrecht University, and performed a minor in Behavioural Data Science at the University of Amsterdam. For her Bachelor’s thesis, she investigated the influence of visual working memory mechanisms on forward and backward serial dependency in perception.

She worked on her Master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Hanneke den Ouden and Soha Farboud. By combining Transcranial Ultrasonic Stimulation (TUS, a novel non-invasive brain stimulation technique), neuroimaging, and behavioural measures, Solenn translated an online TUS protocol established for non-human primates targeting the frontal eye field into a compatible version that could safely and effectively modulate behaviour in humans. This process included a study of the influence of the translated TUS protocol on choice behaviour in humans. Besides her thesis, Solenn worked as a lab manager in the Learning & Decision-making lab.

Currently, Solenn is working as a researcher at the Integrative Model-based Cognitive Neuroscience Research Unit headed by Prof. Birte Forstmann. Here you can see her on the people page of the research unit.
